To do it again. But better. Wiser. With heart. With history.

Reinvention

/me/

I’ve spent years helping others reinvent their style, their confidence, their presence. I’ve been a guide, a muse, a mirror.

Now, for the first time, I get to turn all that energy inward.

No one’s relying on me. No one’s waiting for dinner.

The silence isn’t empty — it’s wide open. And I’m stepping into it with purpose.

This space is my next creation.

Not just a blog — but a home for my rebirth, my thoughts, my truth.

Because reinvention isn’t just something I offer.

It’s who I am.

WOMEN EMPOWERED.

Growing up I had two mothers until the age of 12 when my mother met my amazing step father. My mother’s were strong women. Feminists if you will. I remember clearly the magazine “Ms” and their demands that my little sister Megan and I were not allowed to play with Barbie dolls. According to our mother’s,  they didn’t exemplify the strength woman had. Our  mother’s  and of course Grandmother, my aunts were and are all strong women. They women that surrounded my sister and I were the epitome of power. Teachers, home builders, chefs, basketball coaches, hairstylists, singers ; all wonderful.  That’s all I knew. I was almost shocked to learn in highschool that their was something called a glass ceiling. Explained to me as a ceiling for women. They could only go so far.

Yeah right? Never occurred to me to even consider this rubbish to be true.

Women and men are both amazing. Dogs, cats, goats, flowers, i-phones. All pretty incredible. We are all incredible in our own way. Comparisons, are pointless in regards to humans, as we all  sing our own songs.

This intro leads me to the volunteering I am so honored to be a part of at The Alexandria House in Los Angeles. Once again I am surrounded my women, all with stories, and all an inspiration to me. These incredible souls are sharing their story of how they got their power back to leave a bad awful  situation. They share on film their stories of survival and the day that they said,” I am taking my life back”.

To the beautiful women that share their lives with me for a few hours, know I admire and respect you. I am proud of you.

If you are afraid for your life , or the lives of your children and feel  trapped. You indeed are not. There are ways out of Hell. I know because I get to spend my Friday mornings with women that demanded their lives back and made it to safety. They gained the power to leave abuse and help others  find their strength and voice.

There’s always something to learn.

Last night we had an assistants class at The Canyon Salon. We have them once a month on Friday nights where the assistants learn many different  moving parts of the business. We were  blessed to have inspiring and talented teachers come from all around the world!  Ranging from our own stylists to big name famous stylists. Our teacher last evening was the awe inspiring Amy Edwards. Allen Edwards daughter. First I must say how honored I am to be in the room with this woman, but to see her in action as a motivated educator was bar none show stopping. The way she was comitted to the students GET what she was CONVEYING was something I really got. As an educator myself, and someone who strives  to know how to do  everything exactly perfect so I can teach exactly perfect like a blue  print constructed my an engineer is nuts. First of all thats not realistic.  It’s not custom tailored.  It’s robotic. I stopped striving for perfection and began  striving for excellence many years ago and the stress level in my head went away, I got out of my  head and  was able to be present to all of life’s/hairs on your head  REALNESS.  Last night was real. It had structure, yet flexibility. What a great combo for our up and coming rock stars at The Canyon Salon, and me. I got to learn it all to. Thank you to Allen first for making such a rad kid. thank you Amy I look forward to working with you again. You tube video will be uploaded today. It’s hilarious. I tell you why later, but I have to go to work. Have the best day ever. You create everything. So create greatness!
