Lives changed this weekend.

This past weekend was the Long Beach ISSE show. A beauty industry gathering I look forward to every January. This year I traveled with my girls master stylist and Kevin Murphy educator Kristy Jarvis, my extremely talented little sis, Lindsey Fuentes, our Canyon Salon top Nail Artist Terry Viscara. I’ll refer to us as the “beauty gang” we roll to these events, classes, pop up events, photo shoots together. These girls are always down! We met the owners and dear friends Christy Calafati and Nikki Corzine there later and all had the best dinner at “555”.

Kristy Jarvis studied with the famous celebrity stylist Ted Gibson. A major shift transpired over two days in her career than set her on fire ! That fire was so bright it could’ve lit up the world!

We came as one person , and at the end of the weekend, we left with our passions ignited And feeling inspired and educated to our cores.

Thank you to Mike Johles from LA shear and Aaron Johles from Ibiza Hair for all your support , help and love! Nina Kovner for simply being a passionista and spreading the love, Jericho for teaching me things I never ever knew!! ( 7 minute Blowdry ) and haircut techniques so simple with great impact! To Editor in Chief of American Salon , Salon Today and Modern Salon, Stacy Soble. She took time for me to hear our story of the Canyon Salon raising awareness about domestic violence , shooting a documentary, our huge fundraiser in April, and what is “Ingridhairinspiration” ?

Thank you to the many new friends I made, the vendors that sold me a truck full of supplies! To the makers of Patron, SARK cards , The Hyatt , every single person that poured their love into the 2015 International Salon and Spa expo!

All of you brought it together and gave us the best weekend of 2015 thus far!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I brought in the new year cleaning and organizing my home. Stumbled across many things I have been looking for. Ever dust off your book case and actually look at the library you have put together over the course of your life in your very own home?

I am a book collector, an avid and passionate transformer. My collection of books blows me away. What would it be like if in I weren’t able to leave the house for a week and do nothing but read all my enlightening books?

I’ll answer that. Full of knowledge in home organization, home decorating, chakra healing, hair color formulation ideas, updo ideas, business savvy…You get it.

I fell asleep with a stack of magazines last night, tearing out pages of new haircuts and color ideas for my clients.

Embrace the beauty of each day, it is a gift. You can have everything! Your mind has ALL THE POWER! Consider your utmost dreams a reality; If you believe it is so.

I am off to go read some books and tear pages out of magazines of images that I love and tape them all over my walls!

My Beauty Bus Adventure.

I volunteer with one of the most incredible foundations that moves me to another level in my heart. To bring beauty and joy to those who are terminally ill and their caregivers. It is rewarding, sad and joyful all at the same time. Today I went to see Lili and her mother  Lillia who’ve Ive cut and styled before at a pop up event, and I adored them from the word hello. Truth be told I adore, admire and respect all the people I help make feel special. Beautiful. Words cannot express.  For house visits you always go with a “beauty buddie” They handle the psychology going on, the paperwork that needs to be signed, they bring a bag full of goodies from face creams to gels to nail polish. They’re like a beauty santa psychologist. I couldn’t do it with out them. Thank you to my beauty buddie Patti , a short haired firecracker that just makes the energy all around you calm, serene, and joyful. She has that  gift . Everyone she is in near proximity feels bliss.

I started with the mom first, Lillia. She had long beautiful locks, but needed a short pixie so it’s easier to manage. Ahh….Pixies? My favorite haircut. When I was finished it looked so good I want to cut my hair shorter again. To be honest I had that same haircut a year ago and loved it. More important, she loved it!

On to my darling Lily. She had long locks. They were hard for her to manage. So I cut her into a classic bob. she wore it so lovely.

We shared stories, we gave love, we listened, and we made these two woman so happy and special. I can speak for myself and Patti, we felt  special too.
