Last night we had an assistants class at The Canyon Salon. We have them once a month on Friday nights where the assistants learn many different moving parts of the business. We were blessed to have inspiring and talented teachers come from all around the world! Ranging from our own stylists to big name famous stylists. Our teacher last evening was the awe inspiring Amy Edwards. Allen Edwards daughter. First I must say how honored I am to be in the room with this woman, but to see her in action as a motivated educator was bar none show stopping. The way she was comitted to the students GET what she was CONVEYING was something I really got. As an educator myself, and someone who strives to know how to do everything exactly perfect so I can teach exactly perfect like a blue print constructed my an engineer is nuts. First of all thats not realistic. It’s not custom tailored. It’s robotic. I stopped striving for perfection and began striving for excellence many years ago and the stress level in my head went away, I got out of my head and was able to be present to all of life’s/hairs on your head REALNESS. Last night was real. It had structure, yet flexibility. What a great combo for our up and coming rock stars at The Canyon Salon, and me. I got to learn it all to. Thank you to Allen first for making such a rad kid. thank you Amy I look forward to working with you again. You tube video will be uploaded today. It’s hilarious. I tell you why later, but I have to go to work. Have the best day ever. You create everything. So create greatness!
My Beauty Bus Adventure.
I volunteer with one of the most incredible foundations that moves me to another level in my heart. To bring beauty and joy to those who are terminally ill and their caregivers. It is rewarding, sad and joyful all at the same time. Today I went to see Lili and her mother Lillia who’ve Ive cut and styled before at a pop up event, and I adored them from the word hello. Truth be told I adore, admire and respect all the people I help make feel special. Beautiful. Words cannot express. For house visits you always go with a “beauty buddie” They handle the psychology going on, the paperwork that needs to be signed, they bring a bag full of goodies from face creams to gels to nail polish. They’re like a beauty santa psychologist. I couldn’t do it with out them. Thank you to my beauty buddie Patti , a short haired firecracker that just makes the energy all around you calm, serene, and joyful. She has that gift . Everyone she is in near proximity feels bliss.
I started with the mom first, Lillia. She had long beautiful locks, but needed a short pixie so it’s easier to manage. Ahh….Pixies? My favorite haircut. When I was finished it looked so good I want to cut my hair shorter again. To be honest I had that same haircut a year ago and loved it. More important, she loved it!
On to my darling Lily. She had long locks. They were hard for her to manage. So I cut her into a classic bob. she wore it so lovely.
We shared stories, we gave love, we listened, and we made these two woman so happy and special. I can speak for myself and Patti, we felt special too.
My ten day face peel journey.
When will you ever find ten days to go through a face peel? I mean really? Ten days, no work? No sun? do you go in public? What is one to do?
Well the answer is You just do it! The results are well worth the 10 days of sunscreen saturation, serums, hats, sunglasses, and work? I went to work every day as my clients were in awe. Half of them made appoinments to do their own peel.
I am sharing my journey to my new face. I am simply in awe. Thank you to my dear friend and facial specialsit at The Canyon Salon, Kelly McCauley. My skin looks like it did when I was sixteen. The actual plump, clear, pure, glowing skin. My make up glides on, I am a total supporter of Kelly’s face peel at The Canyon Salon.
A Jessner peel is a popular medium-depth chemical peel that works to improve skin health by helping remove and heal skin damage that is more extensive than regular “wear and tear.” This skin care treatment is stronger than most superficial chemical peels, and therefore creates more temporary damage to the skin in the process. The Jessner peel consists of three main ingredients: lactic acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (aids in penetration), and resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne).
With this said, my minimal sun damage is gone, my skin is radiant. I still see My Launa Stone for a little botox here and there, but this is all part of being and looking and feeling the best you can possibly feel.
We will go into the previous paragraph in depth and on many levels. So I’ll save content and get into the photographs.

I love learning!
What a great kick off to my week to meet and learn from world famous educators in my field of hair. The highlight of my day was learning aside my colleagues Kristy Jarvis and Doriley Juarez. We had so much fun rotating four different classes that were each equally entertaining and mind blowing. If I had to pick my favorite class of the day it would be hard, but If I HAD to choose, it would be my reintroduction to Hothead hair extensions. I work with so many clients who would enjoy a bit more hair here and there, or they want layers but aren’t willing to cut their hair. I now have the answer. I can now share the my inspiration and pay it forward. There are so many ways to add fringe, highlights, volume…the list goes on. There are so many options. It’s endless. I am counting the minutes to get back to work and call all my clients who I know will be over the moon with my new found knowledge.
Moving forward, I got to see my friend Anthony Edge who is one of my favorite educators in the world. He reminds me of a hair fairy beaming with incredible talent and the tremendous ability to teach. It would be a dream to spend the day hanging out with Anthony.
Of course, Kevin Murphy’s class is always on point. Our teacher today was Marianne Jensen. Hairstylist Extraordinaire. No joke. She did many models today. Two were my favorite hairstyles I have ever seen IN MY LIFE! She is a master. MASTER. I am trying with all my might to squeeze in to her hands on class tomorrow.
The last class of the day I met a wonderful, humble and talented man who’s specialty is barbering. His name is Trent. He is a highly sought after educator with Prive. I was so moved by his class and teaching that I drove straight to salon centric and bought new clippers and all the new attachments. I am off to the races. If I have any open spaces this week in my schedule I am going to pull models off the street and cut all their hair of into sick fades.
I dont know how I am going to sleep tonight. My mind is spinning in all directions of everything I learned today and how it will be a solid part of my reality in my life of INGRIDHAIRINSPIRATION. I love to professional growth, e xpansion and I look forward to teaching everything I learned today to the Canyon Salon Team!

Set intentions. Go forward. Keep Moving.
Feeling exhausted and wanting to jump for joy all at the same time. Had my 7 hour business coaching meeting today. It’s an amazing feeling to reach a goal with dual minds. Napoleon Hill called it “Mastermind” groups. It’s where each entity involved brings their gift to the table, working together to achieve a common goal. That has been my experience today and in recent past days. I am fortunate to work with an amazing group both inside the Canyon Salon and out. Thank you Oriah Mirza for focusing your powerful energy on me and my brand. Great ideas! Thank you to my family The Canyon Salon for building me in every facet of my professional career, with all the love in the world.

Have we written our goals for the week?
I’m still getting the hang of this whole blog thing. What message or messages/vibe/stories do I share with you. What I am wanting to convey. it’s Sunday, one of my favorite days of the week. It’s family day. Week ahead preparation day. Sunday is the day I get to plan exactly what I want to manifest. I write 3 goals down in writing, and I try to type them in my notes on my phone too. One way or another those goals are written. I make a sub plan and mark out time in my phones calendar and write myself a sticky note on the plan toward these goals. For instance one of my goals this week in to have a solid outline of exactly the subjects I am going to cover when I meet my business coach this Friday. Check this out..Our magical meeting is on 10/10 at 10. Alignment already before we even begin. Another one of my goals this week is to blog. I will blog about my last week’s exciting events; botox parties and client appreciation event. By the time I got home I was to tired, it was a stretch to even get the face washed and teeth brushed. My third goal is to play around with 3 phone apps that involve taking a plain photo and turning it into art. Subjective of course. I find it different and I love it. sit down right before bed, write 3 goals on a post it note or a filecard, or in your notes on your phone. Look at it every day! If you must make duplicates i encourage that ! stick them all over!
You will learn this simple way to bite of one piece of at a time, and reflect. then your’e hungry again, chew off some more and really get this work. it has moved mountains for me with just 3 goals in one week. mix a soul on fire, with relentless focus and belief topped with firey hot flaming passion.. BAM! you’ll want some more and some more. I love to give, help and be of service. my favorite is to be loved authetically, and come across someone who this reasonates with, This is why I am in love with Sanfransisco.
Soul on Fire. My soul is red hot and in flames.
Appreciate Your Gifts
Happy Wednesday everyone! I took the day off yesterday to rest. My body told me “go back to bed” at 7 am. Upon waking up getting my daughter off to school, I couldn’t quite get a grasp on my day much less myself. So I cancelled my meeting with my business coach. I was so looking forward. I needed to rest. I listened to my body. Slept all day Tuesday, and today WEDNESDAY was wonderful.
I did one of my favorite clients hair today and copied down a few words she shared with me. Had to share. We were chatting about our children. Ways they’ll critisize a picture of themselves, or put themselves down in some light manner. “if you don’t appreciate the gifts you are given, you run a risk of having them taken away”. She was referring to this karmically. I have always come from the school of thought “be grateful for what you have, for what if you awoke and they were gone”.
Point is, every moment is a blessing. We all have somethng to be thankful for. Go write down 10 things you are thankful for RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT. Stick it on your mirror. ”
Sweet dreams.
